My Innocence Handcrafted Purse
The International Labor Organization estimates that there are 40.3 million victims of human trafficking globally, with hundreds of thousands in the United States. Victims are told they are no longer useful or innocent after violation by both their traffickers and parts of the community. But that’s not true. Innocence is love. It is forgiveness. I restore and heal daily through my work, love and forgiveness. This is why creating this purse was so important. It’s a symbol. It’s a representation of the innocence for human trafficking survivors.
- This is a purse with a cause to bring awareness to human trafficking survivors and the stigma of losing innocence. It is the symbolic and physical representation that that is not true.
- This purse was created by survivor Air, making a difference in what it means to be a survivor.
- This purse has a hand woven handle with bar, satin inner lining, and by hand sewn lace trimming. It took a total of nine hours to create this one of a kind purse.
- This purse is completely one of a kind, hand woven and sewn with cotton, lace and satin lining.
